INSURANCE COVERAGE

Medical foot care is a private service and is not covered by Alberta Health Care. However, nursing medical foot care is covered by some insurance companies and may also be used as a medical expense for income tax purposes. Many extended health insurance plans in Alberta may provide coverage for foot care delivered by a licensed or registered nurse. Seniors, veterans, and Indigenous persons may be eligible for partial or full coverage through other programs. At the end of this section, a list of potential funding resources is provided to assist with identifying available options.

Coverage varies by plan, and clients are responsible for confirming eligibility directly with their insurance provider or Human Resources department prior to treatment. Clients should be prepared to pay the full cost of each appointment if insurance does not cover part or all of the service. Privacy legislation prevents insurers from sharing policy details with our clinic.

Receipts are provided after each appointment for insurance submission and tax purposes. Direct billing is not available, and payment is required at the time of service.
